Beverly International Muscle Provider

A fast-digesting whey isolate and hydrolyzed whey shake with 21 g of protein a scoop, from Kentucky's Beverly International

Muscle Provider is Beverly International's quick-digesting whey protein for muscle building and recovery, from the supplement company based in Cold Spring, Kentucky. It's built on whey protein isolate and hydrolyzed whey, the faster forms of whey, and Beverly designed it to make a light shake that won't fill you up before your next meal. Every scoop has 21 g of protein at 100 to 110 calories, with 0 g of added sugar.

Beverly suggests it right around your workout, and says physique competitors use it right up to contest day. We carry Chocolate and Vanilla. Beverly has updated the tubs: newer Chocolate holds 870 g (about 28 scoops) and newer Vanilla 773.5 g (about 26 scoops), while earlier tubs held 870 g (about 30 scoops), so the table shows both versions.

Other ingredients: Earlier tubs: Beverly Fast-Acting Whey Protein System (whey protein isolate, hydrolyzed whey protein, whey protein concentrate, calcium caseinate, egg white). Chocolate adds cocoa powder (alkali processed), natural and artificial flavors, calcium carbonate, salt, gum blend (guar, acacia, xanthan), soy lecithin, sucralose and acesulfame potassium. Vanilla adds maltodextrin, calcium carbonate, dipotassium phosphate, natural and artificial flavors, gum blend, soy lecithin, salt, sucralose and acesulfame potassium

Earlier tubs contain milk, soy (lecithin) and egg. Newer tubs use a Nutrition Facts panel, and we couldn't find their ingredient list, so check the label on yours.

How to use it

  1. Add 1 scoop to 6 to 8 oz of cold water and blend or shake. Use a little less water, or a few ice cubes, for a thicker shake.
  2. Beverly suggests 1 scoop right after your workout and another 4 to 5 hours later. It also works within an hour before training, first thing in the morning or before bed.

Contains milk. Earlier tubs also contain egg and soy (lecithin), so check the allergen line on yours. Beverly's label says to use it as a supplement, not for weight reduction. The product page carries a California Prop 65 warning for lead.

A good fit if you

  • Want a light shake right before or after training
  • Need a protein snack that's easy to fit between meals
  • Want a whey with 0 g of added sugar
  • Like supporting a Kentucky supplement company

Common questions

How much protein is in Muscle Provider?

21 g per scoop in both Chocolate and Vanilla, on newer and earlier tubs, at 100 to 110 calories.

When should I take it?

Beverly suggests 1 scoop right after your workout and another 4 to 5 hours later. You can also have it before training, in the morning or before bed.

Why do the tub sizes differ?

Beverly updated the label. Newer Chocolate tubs hold 870 g (about 28 scoops) and newer Vanilla tubs 773.5 g (about 26 scoops). Earlier tubs held 870 g with about 30 scoops. Every version has 21 g of protein per scoop.

How is Muscle Provider different from UMP?

Muscle Provider is whey isolate and hydrolyzed whey, so it digests quickly and makes a lighter shake for around your workout. UMP is mostly milk protein isolate, which is mostly casein and digests more slowly, so it suits breakfast, between meals and before bed.
