Universal Animal Pak

Animal Pak puts a high-potency multivitamin and seven training and wellness complexes into one daily pill pack

Animal Pak is Universal Nutrition's foundation supplement for people who train hard. On top of a high-potency vitamin and mineral formula, it adds seven complexes: amino acids, protein, performance (eleuthero, taurine and more), antioxidants, liver support, digestive enzymes, and energy and focus. Animal built it to support cellular energy, immune health, metabolism, liver function, digestion and cognitive function, so you aren't juggling a shelf of separate bottles.

Each pack is 8 coated tablets. Animal says one pack a day with a meal is right for most people, with two packs a day for hard training or contest prep. There's no added caffeine, and the tub holds 44 packs.

This is a partial list. The full label also covers the other B vitamins, trace minerals, a full amino acid profile, antioxidants such as alpha lipoic acid, CoQ10 and astaxanthin, and digestive enzymes. Every amount is for a 2-pack serving; Animal doesn't print per-pack amounts.

How to use it

  1. Take 1 pack a day with plenty of water at breakfast or another meal.
  2. In hard training or contest prep, Animal suggests 2 packs a day: one in the morning and one in the evening.
  3. Animal says it's a daily foundation supplement, so there's no need to cycle it.

Contains milk and soy, and the protein complex includes beef and liver. Made in a GMP facility on equipment that also processes egg, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, wheat and sesame. The 2-pack amounts reach or pass NIH's adult upper limits for vitamin D and for supplemental magnesium and niacin, so one pack is the sensible daily amount for most people. If you take other vitamins, count them toward your daily totals.

A good fit if you

  • Want one daily pack instead of a shelf of separate supplements
  • Train hard and want amino acids, antioxidants and digestive enzymes on top of a multivitamin
  • Want a multivitamin with no added caffeine

Common questions

How many pills are in a pack?

8 coated tablets per pack, and the tub has 44 packs.

Should I take 1 pack or 2?

Animal says one pack a day is right for most people. Two packs a day, one in the morning and one in the evening, is for hard training or contest prep. The label's serving size is 2 packs, so the printed amounts are for two.

Does Animal Pak have caffeine?

No added caffeine. Animal says there's no more than 10 mg of naturally occurring caffeine per serving, from ingredients such as green tea extract and coffee fruit extract.

Is it vegetarian?

No. The protein complex includes whey, beef protein isolate and liver, and it contains milk and soy.
