This is Nutricost's saffron: 88.5 mg of saffron extract from the Crocus sativus flower, standardized to 0.3% safranal, in one capsule a day. Nutricost built it to support positive mood levels, and the 240-capsule bottle lasts about eight months at one a day. The label carries a vegan seal, and the only other ingredients are rice flour, the plant-based capsule and magnesium stearate.
Saffron extract has been studied for mood in healthy adults. In one 4-week trial, adults who took a standardized saffron extract reported better mood than those on placebo (Kell et al., 2017).
