Nutricost Maca Root

Organic maca root powder at 750 mg in one capsule a day, with 180 capsules in the bottle

This is Nutricost's maca root: 750 mg of organic maca root powder (Lepidium meyenii) in one plant-based capsule a day, with 180 capsules in the bottle, about a six-month supply. Nutricost says its maca is sourced from Peru, and it lists maca in its men's health, women's health and herbal ranges. A capsule gives you the powdered root without the taste.

Maca is a plant from the Peruvian Andes, grown between 4,000 and 4,500 meters and cultivated there for more than 2,000 years (Gonzales, 2012). Two labels are in circulation. Earlier bottles list only the capsule as an other ingredient and carry a vegetarian seal. The current label adds rice flour, magnesium stearate and silica and carries a vegan seal. Both give 750 mg of maca a capsule.
