Nutricost DHEA
DHEA at 25 mg, the lowest strength we carry, in one vegetarian capsule a day
This is Nutricost's DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) at the 25 mg strength: one vegetarian capsule a day, 120 capsules in the bottle. The only other ingredients are rice flour and the plant-based capsule. Nutricost lists it in its men's health and women's health ranges, and we also carry it at 50 mg and 100 mg.
DHEA is a hormone your adrenal glands make, and your body can convert it into other hormones, including testosterone and estradiol (NIH Office of Dietary Supplements). Because it's a hormone, the label carries a long warning and it's banned in tested sport. Please read the caution below before you buy.

How to use it
- Take 1 capsule a day with 8 to 12 oz of water.
- Don't take more than the label serving.
- Store the bottle in a cool, dry place.
For adults 18 and older only. Don't use it if you're pregnant or nursing. Talk to a physician or licensed healthcare professional before use if you have, or have a family history of, prostate cancer, prostate enlargement, heart disease or low "good" HDL cholesterol, or if you take any other dietary supplement, prescription drug or over-the-counter drug. Don't exceed the serving on the label; taking more may cause serious side effects. The label lists possible side effects of acne, hair loss, facial hair growth in women, aggressiveness, irritability and higher estrogen levels. Stop and call a physician right away if you have a rapid heartbeat, dizziness, blurred vision or similar symptoms. Keep out of reach of children. The World Anti-Doping Agency bans DHEA at all times, in and out of competition, and the NCAA bans it too, so don't use it if you're a tested athlete.
A good fit if you
- Are an adult who has chosen DHEA with your healthcare professional
- Want a single-ingredient DHEA capsule at the 25 mg strength
- Don't compete in a tested sport

Common questions
Can athletes take DHEA?
Tested athletes shouldn't. WADA lists DHEA (prasterone) on its 2026 Prohibited List, banned in and out of competition, and the NCAA bans it too.
Which strength should I choose?
We carry Nutricost DHEA at 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg. Whichever you pick, the label serving is one capsule a day and warns against taking more, so choose the strength with your healthcare professional.
Who shouldn't take it?
The label says it's not for anyone under 18 or anyone pregnant or nursing. It also asks you to check with a physician first if you have, or have a family history of, prostate cancer, prostate enlargement, heart disease or low HDL cholesterol, or if you take other supplements or medication.
Is it vegetarian?
Yes. The label carries a vegetarian seal, and the only other ingredients are rice flour and a hypromellose (cellulose) capsule.
